Niykee is still writing songs, even though she has been part of the recent chaos. Niykee was selected to be part of this year's YouTube Brandcast by Snoop and he accompanied her on stage. A producer magnet Niykee has a constant eye on beats delivered to her. The majority of them spark new song ideas. Within five seconds, I'm able to tell what a song is or not. Then I get an idea for an original song, and start writing the lyrics immediately. I'll sit out on my backyard with my guitar, and then the lyrics appear and it's usually completed in less than thirty minutes. Niykee's past pain is a constant source of inspiratation as she progresses as a writer. "Even when I don't write about my personal life it is the loss of my sister as well as my difficult childhood experiences are integrated in my lyrics," she says. The resulting music is shaped by my experiences and gives it a deeper meaning, which I find very important. I want to be able listen to my music in the next 20 years and still feel proud about what I have to say.
